Mmmm.. the shio ramen here is amazing. Their salty ramen with chashu is hands down the best I’ve had in LA or anywhere in the US for that matter. Everyone has their favorite ramen in socal, and while I still probably choose Daikokuya as my go-to ramen spot, Santouka is a good alternative when I’m not in the mood for the heavy kotteri-style miso broth that’s so good at Daikokuya.

Santouka is located in the food court of a Mitsuwa. Since the one in Downtown little tokyo closed down, I can look forward to a nice meal out here and then some shopping for Japanese goodies and produce afterwards. There’s also parking+seats available with minimal wait for your food. This is great compared to the hassle of getting ramen in little tokyo.

There’s three sizes available and four combo sets to go with your ramen. And if someone with you doesn’t like ramen, you’ve got your choice of three or four other Japanese shops for food. So come sit down with some friends on a cold 60 degree winter day in LA and enjoy a nice, hot bowl of shio ramen with friends while watching sumo fights on the tiny TVs.
